Julie Beeler conceived of the Bloom & Dye workshop series to grow her work and passion to benefit what she values most: curiosity, education, creativity, collaboration, community, and the environment.
Spend a week at the beautiful John C. Campbell Folk School their dedicated natural dye studio where you will learn how to use mushrooms to create vibrant dyes perfect for any natural fiber. We will spend time foraging in the forest, learning the identification process of dye mushrooms. Julie will go through various dye techniques to explore the myriad of colors derived from mushrooms plus students will make pigments, paints and inks created from mushrooms. Everyone will spend time stitching a unique, one of a kind mushroom dyed scarf.
