Harvest and forage the local bounty of Trout Lake and explore the serendipitous world of printing with plants, leaves and flowers. Discover a variety of ways to work with natural dyes; creating eco prints, making dye baths and printing with plant pigments to create and capture the beauty of the seasonal palette. Everyone will experiment with different dyeing and printing techniques to take home a half dozen patchwork squares to incorporate into your own craft projects; perfect for quilts, pillow covers, pot holders, table runners, etc. In addition, you will create your own custom dyed and printed silk cowl that we will sew in class. The instructional craftbook will allow everyone to document their process and continue their exploration at home. 

The workshop is limited to 12 participants and the entire fee (less a $15 materials cost) benefits the Mt St. Helen’s Institute science education program scholarships.
